A really simple and safe way to lead her to give you her number is to think about a great restaurant, club, bar, game, park with fun 
environment and talk about it with her. Then simply tell her:
M: I’m going there next weekend with some friends; you should join us.
W: Yeah that sounds fun; I’ll have to check my schedule.
M: Great, lets exchange info and I’ll text you the details.
Pick something you’ve wanted to do, see or try like a new restaurant/bar/museum/etc. and ask her:
M: Have you been to Balboa Park Museum? They have the most amazing gardens.
W: No I haven’t been in probably 3 years.
M: Neither have I, we should go.
W: Yeah that’s sounds lovely
M: Great, lets exchange info
Get the idea? Never just ask for the number, instead make it a natural progression of the relationship building process. You’ve met her and talked to her, asked some level 1, 2, and 3 questions and now you’ve brought up a suggestion that hopefully matches her passions and you ask her to join you.
To avoid her flaking on you, make a tentative date for the adventure. This way she’ll be thinking about it all week until you call and she’ll be less inclined to back out.
